AUBURN — The two-time state champion DeKalb High School show choirs are
sponsoring two events to raise money for a new equipment trailer.
The Auburn Art Fair will take place Saturday, Sept. 4, from noon to 6 p.m. at
the DeKalb Outdoor Theater. Artists displaying and selling their original
artwork will include weavers, blown-glass makers, jewelers, painters and others.
A young artist fair will allow artists under the age of 21 can display their
pieces. Demonstrations will show how artists create their works. A kids’ zone
will allow child to create their own art, and living sculptures will interpret
the Sculptures on the Square. Admission will be free.
A frog race will take place on the same day as the Auburn Art Fair. Show choirs
will sell tickets starting Wednesday for $5 each. At 4 p.m., floating frogs will
be released at Ninth Street in Cedar Creek, and the first frog to cross the line
at the Outdoor Theater will win $500. Tickets may be purchased from any show
choir member or at Little Sprouts, Carbaugh Jewelers and Froggy Radio.
